Today Is: Melissa Rohs Appreciation Day
This is a short synopsis of the film Doomsday that I wrote on Facebook.
Doomsday was awesome. Not because it was good or anything, but because it was like watching 5 movies in one. It starts out like a generic zombie movie with an outbreak of some terrible plague. To stop it they quarantine the entire country of Scotland and leave them to die. Then the virus escapes over the walls 30 years later and a crack-pot special ops team is sent over the wall for a cure. Once over the wall the film morphs into Mad Max. It stays in Mad Max land up until their party is narrowed down to 3 then the switch over to Lord of the Rings begins. It then switches from LotR to Gladiator and then segues into a 10 minute Bentley commercial/climactic car chase fight scene. Then it switches over to V for Vendetta and wraps it all up with the ending from Riddick for the win! Throw in gratuitous violence, blood and cannibalism and you have Doomsday.
